Kora Flamenca is a unique encounter between the Mandinka music of virtuoso kora player Zal Sissokho and the flamenco of acclaimed guitarist and composer Caroline Planté, joined by Mexican percussionist Miguel Medina.

Their artistic proposal creates an immersive sound journey that celebrates diversity and unity through art, intertwining influences from West Africa and Spanish flamenco. Each piece tells a story that connects ancestral traditions with contemporary sensibilities, resonating deeply with Latin American and North American audiences alike.

  • Zal Sissokho – Originally from Senegal, based in Canada and Mexico. An internationally recognized virtuoso of the kora (a 21-string African harp), acclaimed for blending Mandinka tradition with contemporary genres.
  • Caroline PlantĂ© – Canadian guitarist and composer with deep training in flamenco. She has collaborated on international projects that cross musical and cultural boundaries.
  • Miguel Medina – Mexican percussionist whose rhythmic versatility bridges both traditions and enriches the musical dialogue.

With their debut album La Source and new stage projects, Kora Flamenca represents a true cultural bridge between Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
