Babette Hierholzer, piano
Pianist Babette Hierholzer’s debut with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra was followed by numerous performances lead by renowned conductors Sir Colin Davis, Klaus Tennstedt & Semyon Bychkov. Her career includes appearances with the Pittsburgh Symphony, recital in Berlin’s Philharmonic Hall, the National Gallery of Art in D.C. and Weill Carnegie Hall. She has recorded CDs with music by Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann and played the Soundtrack and Double of Nastassja Kinski in Peter Schamoni’s Schumann movie ‘Spring Symphony’. Babette served as the Artistic Director to the German Forum & RCMS, Rhinebeck Chamber Music Society. Currently living in Red Hook, NY, Babette has concertized in Mexico before, and is delighted to be playing in San Miguel for the first time. She is a Steinway Artist. www.babettehierholzer.com
Malcolm Halliday, piano
Pianist, organist and conductor Malcolm Halliday has performed in the US, Mexico and Europe, as soloist, conductor, and with singers, instrumentalists, and orchestra. He has performed frequently with historical pianos, using period instruments in concerts at Jordan Hall and Faneuil Hall in Boston, Mechanics Hall in Worcester, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He is featured in two recordings of music on Albany Records by the American composer Leo Sowerby, including the solo album Impressions, featuring rare piano music of this Chicago-based original He is also heard on numerous other recordings, including British art songs with tenor Stanley Wilson, and Schubert’s Winterreise with bass-baritone Robert Osborne.
